  • Benefits and Applications of Photocatalytic Ceramic Tile & Exterior Cladding Panels

This course provides an overview of the properties of photocatalytic terra cotta tiles including the science, health benefits and applications, maintenance, and aesthetic benefits. Photocatalytic oxididation is an existing technology that uses natural elements to maintain surfaces in a manner that eliminates bacteria, viruses, algae, and mold. This course will explain and illustrate those benefits, through manufacturing process to end use through the use of case studies.

  • Terra Cotta Facades

This course describes the history, manufacture, design and specification, and installation of terra cotta facade systems. We will review of the development of the first terra cotta wall systems in Germany in the 1980’s and technological advances since. We will also discuss the production of both fired clay masonry and the composition of various backup systems that constitute a complete terra cotta facade system and the codes that govern the materials and design parameters. Last, we will review the proper execution of installation of the terra cotta system.

  • Ventilated Facade with Porcelain Exterior Cladding

This presentation will review the history of facade architecture including the definition, description, and origins. How to use ventilated facades as a saving energy system. Review technical details with visible and invisible solutions including the technical performance and why porcelain is the best material for a ventilated facade. Architectural and structural design will be reviewed with a case study.

  • Structural Insulated Sheathing Presentation

Participants will receive 1 HSW Credit for this presentation on structural insulated sheathing. The presentation will cover the thermal and performance efficiencies of a SIS assembly along with its excellent fire ratings and NFPA 285 approval. Will review product detailing including the attachment of a myriad of cladding and sub-framing systems directly to the SIS while providing continuous insulation and code compliance.

  • Using High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) Compact Panels for Drained and Back-Ventilated Rainscreen Wall Systems

This course is designed to help architects and designers understand what HPL Compact is and the benefits of using this material as cladding in rainscreen systems. We will discuss how the product is manufactured, applications for the product in exterior construction, design considerations, installation details, code compliance, and sustainability. We will also cover the basics of rainscreen design and function.
